In previous posts about Kathleen and Jeremy, I’ve mentioned their twist of fate and their amazing story of how they met. If you haven’t read the story before, find out more here and here. Their story is simply one of the most amazing, and it’s a constant reminder to me of the magic of fate.
It’s funny though, that the way that Kathleen and Jeremy came into my life was a twist of fate, too. In fact, our story goes back as far as when I was a little first grader, at Zach White Elementary School in El Paso, Texas. There was a boy in my class named James, who was my first grade crush. I believe the crush at that time was mutual, because James gave me a little teddy bear, and I went home and wrote, “I love Jams” in permanent blue marker in my closet at home. Apparently, I didn’t know how to spell the name James, and I omitted the “e.” Fast forward many years, and James and I remained friends in high school, and as we both got married.
Nearly one year ago, his older sister, Kathleen, and his mom were visiting the Austin Bridal Extravaganza, and Kathleen noticed the last name, “Gulbas.” We soon realized the connection, and I laughed at old memories from elementary school.
At the bridal show, Kathleen was beaming with her gorgeous smile, and she was elated to be engaged to Jeremy. Her happiness and her enthusiasm was contagious. When she told me about the magical pew (as I now call it), I was floored. This is one of my favorite “meeting” stories to date.
I was so honored to have photographed Kathleen and Jeremy’s wedding. You can view Part 1 here. Kathleen and Jeremy, along with their friends and family are some of the kindest, most loving people I have ever met.
