Mission Espada Church, San Antonio: Vivian & Catalin

When I first talked with Vivian on the phone, I got to know her and her fiance, Catalin, as photographers.  I was immediately drawn to their work, which you can see here and here. They both have a raw, beautiful vision. The way they execute layers and capture light is something many photographers work their entire career trying to master. As a fellow photojournalist from Mizzou, their work inspired me.

I went into the wedding day photographing a wedding for photographers, but within minutes, I felt like I was photographing a wedding for a friend. Vivian’s sweet, genuine personality is captivating, and (it goes without saying) she was a stunning bride. Catalin has a quiet, calm, and strong demeanor. I loved capturing all the quiet moments that Cata exchanged with Vivian on the wedding day.

What I loved most was the unabashed, raw emotion and interaction throughout the day. Vivian and Catalin’s friends and relatives love them with such fervor, and witnessing such sweet moments makes it impossible not to love them, too.

Here are some of my favorite moments of their day. Thank you to the following vendors:
