I just posted the bridal portraits from Suzanne’s session yesterday, and I couldn’t wait to get her wedding images on the blog. Here we go!
When I saw Suzanne at the salon, I felt like I was visiting an old friend. Seriously, she is one of the most patient, sweet, and tolerant people I have met. (It was freezing cold outside during her bridal portraits — AND scattered with some light rain — and Suzanne didn’t complain one bit.) So, going into the wedding, I already felt like I was photographing the wedding for a friend. Little did I know that we have a little sorority connection…
When Suzanne hung her wedding dress, I saw a sweet fleur-de -lis on the personalized wedding gown hanger. The symbol had meaning to me, and I was so excited to find out that Suzanne is a Kappa Kappa Gamma, along with the majority her bridal party! I knew right away that their wedding day would be a fantastic day.
These women did not miss a beat! They were having fun while waiting for the ceremony to begin, and they entertained themselves by double-dutching with an imaginary jump rope. The groomsmen were having a blast downstairs, too. They were tossing and catching beers while viewing hilarious videos on their iPhones. Needless to say, I had great expectations for the dance floor, and they didn’t disappoint! (Those photos will be posted later in Part 2.)
I think this was the first time in the history of photographing weddings that I have seen a bride eat lunch in her gown. Suzanne was so relaxed, and just enjoyed spending time with her sorority sisters. (The sandwich wraps you see in one of the photos? They are delicious! Brides, I highly recommend the wraps from Jason’s Deli for pre-ceremony food. Yummy!)
Anyone who knows me knows that I’m a sucker for cute kids at weddings. I cannot resist getting photographs of kids just being kids — and the kiddos in this bridal party were adorable. I absolutely loved the interaction of the little ring bearers as they were waiting to walk down the aisle. I’m tempted to start a caption contest for the photo with the two ring bearers … let me know what you think!
Stay tuned for Part 2 of their wedding day — it will be posted very soon!
Suzanne and Evan, congratulations to you both. L&L …Debra
